Thai Phrases

English is quite widely understood in Thailand, especially in Bangkok and major tourist destinations. Notwithstanding that, trying the local language adds an interesting dimension to your travels and is always appreciated by the locals.

NOTE: If you have an iPod, you can download Thai lessons and other media to Podcast Searchuse while you are travelling - these podcasts are free.

To do this, open iTunes on your PC or Mac, click on Podcasts and Search for 'Learn Thai'.

If you need assistance, refer to iTunes Help for instructions.

To make a request or greeting sound more polite, male speakers should add "khrab" to the end of a sentence and female speakers add "kaa".
